To use Transkriptor’s recording features, you must grant access to your microphone and camera.
On the Transkriptor Homepage, Click Record & Transcribe card.
Set the transcription language to match the original language of your recording.
Then, select the service:
Transcription – Convert speech into text.
Subtitles – Generate captions for your video.
Choose the recording options that best suits your preferences.
Screen - Records everything visible on your computer screen.
Camera - Records a video of yourself using your webcam.
Screen & Camera - Records both yourself and your screen simultaneously.
System - Captures only system sounds, such as music or in-app audio.
Microphone - Records your voice through the microphone but does not capture system audio.
Microphone & System - Records both microphone input and system audio (ideal for meetings and presentations).
If you select System from the audio settings, clicking Start Recording will prompt the Choose What to Share screen.
From this screen, select one of the following options:
Entire Screen – Shares everything visible on your screen.
Window – Shares only a specific application window.
Chrome Tab – Shares a single browser tab for focused recording.
After selecting what to share, click the Share button to begin recording.
During the recording, the player control bar will be located in the lower left corner of the screen, allowing you to pause, stop, or cancel the recording in real time.
Stop Button – Click this button to stop the recording, and the result will be saved.
Pause/Resume Button – Click this button to pause or resume the recording as needed.
Discard Button – Click this button to cancel the recording, and the result will be discarded.
After finishing the recording, your file will be uploaded to the cloud. The upload time may vary depending on the recording duration. Once the upload is complete, you will see your file in the Files tab, where you can access, edit, or download it.
